Ablyy’s on-line profile gauge is a large-scale integrated inspection system capable of measuring length, width, thickness, head/tail defects, camber, diagonal, and shear angle. Leveraging German Polytec length measurement technology for length and laser slicing technology for thickness, it employs different principles for width and defect detection (e.g., head/tail defects, camber) based on application scenarios and process requirements, primarily binocular stereo vision and laser slicing:
· Laser slicing measures slab length, width, thickness, and arching before reheating furnaces and rough rolling.
· Binocular stereo vision detects head/tail defects and camber before section shears, crop shears, and sizing shears.
· Combined binocular vision and laser slicing measures width, shear angle, camber, and diagonal after sizing shears for final product inspection.
